AUTO INSURANCE CLAIMS
As soon as a claim occurs, please intimate immediately to our Help line number 1800 3002 8282(toll free), 3989 8282(local call charges apply), our call centre executive will be happy to help you with the claim procedure.
Following information needs to be furnished by you while intimating a claim:
- Your Contact Numbers
- Policy Number
- Name of Insured person,
- Date & Time of accident,
- Vehicle number
- Make and Model,
- Location of Loss,
- Garage Name with contact details
- Brief description on how the accident took place,
- Extent of loss
- Place & contact details of the Insured Person if the person intimating the claim is not insured.
Claim Procedure::
Claims are broadly of three types:
- Own damage Claims
- Theft claims.
- Third party Claim
IMMEDIATE ACTION AFTER ACCIDENT
- Contact Reliance General Ins Co. ltd to intimate the claim with in 24 Hrs of the accident ( 1800 3002 8282 - toll free, 3989 8282 - local call charges apply)
- Mention the policy No /vehicle no to intimate the claim
- Please don't leave the vehicle unattended/unlocked after the accident, if there after any theft of parts or accessories will not be honoured by the company.
- If there is any leakage of oil or coolant or any major accident, please don't drive the vehicle, as any extension further to the damages will not be covered under the policy
- In case the vehicle is not in the moving condition, arrange for towing the vehicle. Cities like Mumbai and Delhi, we are having our own towing vehicle which will be available for your services.
- Take the vehicle to the nearest authorized garage of your choice / preferred/Cashless Workshops of Reliance General Insurance co. ltd.
- Leave a copy of Driving License who was driving at the time of accident, RC Book copy duly self attested along with the duly filled and signed claim form in the garage.
- Don't start the repairs without Survey/Inspection of Reliance general Ins
- Pay the difference in the case of Preferred Ws or Cashless garage and take the delivery of the vehicle .( Pay the full amount if the vehicle is repaired at the Workshop of your choice which is not listed in our cashless/preferred Garages and send the bills & receipt to us for reimbursement). if the Bills are above 20000/- reinspection is to be done.
- In case of Commercial Vehicles, Please inform our Call centre immediately after the accident so that we can arrange for a spot survey on the accident spot. Vehicle can be shifted to the garage after the spot survey is conducted and should inform the company about the garage details so that company will appoint the surveyor to assess the loss.
- In case there is third party involvement FIR is must.
- Additional document in specific claim shall be intimated separately.

How to submit your claim with Reliance General Insurance for processing and reimbursement.
Step 1. Please collect all documents
Step 2. Please fill up the claim form provided to you fully.
Step 3. Please check the address of Reliance General Insurance Regional office where you need to send the documents
Step 3. Within 7 days after completion of repair/date of loss which ever is earlier, please lodge your claim with Reliance General Insurance for processing.
Please note, when lodging your claim with Reliance General Insurance, please make sure that the documents are sent as per the check list mentioned below:
Documents Checklist:
Claim for accident damages:
- Proof of insurance - policy / cover note copy
- Copy of Registration Book, Tax Receipt (Please furnish original for verification)
- Copy of Motor Driving License (with original) of the person driving the vehicle at the material time
- Police Panchanama/FIR (In case of third Party Property damage/ death/body injury)
- Estimate for repairer where the vehicle is to be repaired
- Repair bills and payment receipts after the job is completed
Where claim is to be paid to repairer -Claims Discharge Cum Satisfaction Voucher signed across a Revenue stamp (format attached below) in addition to s.no 1-5 above.
Claim for theft cases:
- Original Certificate/Policy Document
- Original Registration Book, with Theft endorsement from concerned RTO, and tax payment receipt
- Previous Insurance Details- Policy No., insuring office/ company, period of insurance
- All the sets of keys/service booklet/warranty card
- Police panchanama/ FIR and final investigation report/JMFC report
- Acknowledged copy of letter address to RTO intimating theft and making vehicle "NON-USE"
The insurers may submit following on admission of liability.
- Form 28,29 and 30 signed by the insured & Form 35 signed by the Financer, as the case may be, (undated and blank), on admission of liability be insurers.
- Letter of subrogation,
- Consent towards agreed claim settlement value from you and Financer
- NOC of the Financer if claim is to be settled in insured's favour.
- Claim Discharge Voucher signed across a Revenue Stamp (Format Attached below).
