Positive sentiments ensured strong start & end to markets with benchmark SENSEX crossing 17000 mark in first hour of trade. Mixed trend was observed by sectoral indices with stock specific buying amongst front line counters. Market breadth remained positive with sharp jump in cash volumes

Profit booking may be observed at higher levels
Positive global cues ensured strong start to domestic markets with NIFTY crossing 5000 mark in first few minutes of trade. Later part of the session although remained extremely ranged and dull. Nevertheless, stock specific action continued through the session. Market breadth remained positive with sharp declines in cash volumes

Markets struggled at higher levels after scaling to multi month highs
Indices witnessed minor profit booking at higher levels around 5000 marks. Mixed trend was observed in sectoral indices. Buying was observed in Mid-cap and Small-cap indices as they outperformed both the benchmark indices by a significant margin. Volumes in cash segments however failed to register any growth. Reiterating our earlier view, technical trend continues to indicate bullish scenario

Peculiar expiry session volatility will be observed
Negative global cues took toll on market sentiments as indices started the session on an extremely negative note. However value buying at lower levels saw indices moving up steadily. Profit booking was visible across the board during first hour of trade however last hour of trade saw mild improvement in some of the sectoral indices
