Mumbai Sugar futures gained further on better buying interest was witnessed among traders and speculators during initial hours of trade on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange [NCDEX].

NCDEX February sugar opened up Rs four at Rs 2,157/quintal, and witnessed movement between Rs 2,145 and Rs2,166 /quintal. At 11.00 am IST, the contract traded up Rs 7 at Rs 2,160/quintal with a volume of 2340 tonnes.

Benchmark January sugar opened up Re one at Rs 2,190/quintal, and fluctuated between Rs 2,175 and Rs 2,145/quintal. At 11.00 am IST, the contract traded up Rs 9 at Rs 2,190/quintal with a volume of 8,610 tonnes. Other contract traded higher between Rs 8 to Rs 11 per quintal.
