Polaris Software Lab (Polaris) started in 1995 is a leading software cum product player largely catering to banking, financial and insurance sectors. Citibank/OrbiTech is the largest shareholder of the company with close to 43% stake, incidentally Citigroup is also the single largest clients with 40% odd revenues contribution. With strong IPs libraries through both organic and inorganic routes coupled with increasing deals size in the services business, Polaris is ready to move into next level of growth. The Polaris management has chalked out a roadmap to move into higher growth trajectory with incremental thrust on client's expansion, geographical expansion, product business expansion. Polaris currently has more than 200 clients, and is venturing into newer geographies like Egypt, Chile and Vietnam as part of its country expansion strategy having also acquired SEEC Inc, SOA based Insurance solution provider with IPs consisting of a library of over 300 Business Components. However, Polaris's consolidated revenues is still very much dominated by services revenues of around 81%, nevertheless with increasing acceptability of product IPs, going ahead there will be healthy balance between services and products in the longer term.
