Mutual funds' buying slows down

Mutual funds (MFs) bought shares worth a net Rs 17.50 crore on Wednesday, 22 October 2008, much lower than Rs 602.20 crore on Tuesday, 21 October 2008.

MFs' net inflow of Rs 17.50 crore on 22 October 2008 was a result of gross purchases Rs 440 crore and gross sales Rs 422.50 crore. The BSE Sensex lost 513.49 points or 4.81% to 10,169.90 on that day.

MFs were net buyers of shares worth Rs 708.90 crore in this month, till 22 October 2008.
