Mutual funds in buying mode

Mutual funds (MFs) bought shares worth a net Rs 116.10 crore on Tuesday, 2 September 2008, compared to their selling of Rs 80.70 crore on Monday, 1 September 2008.

MFs net inflow of Rs 116.10 crore on 2 September 2008 was a result of gross purchases Rs 993.70 crore and gross sales Rs 877.60 crore. BSE Sensex jumped 551.35 points or 3.80% to 15,049.86 points on that day.

MFs were net buyers of shares worth Rs 35.40 crore in this month, till 2 September 2008.
