Sundaram BNP Paribas mutual fund has extended the new fund offer period of Sundaram BNP Paribas Energy Opportunities fund, by three days to December 14, 2007. Initially, the new fund offer of Sundaram BNP Paribas Energy Opportunities Fund, which opened for initial subscription on 12 November 2007, was to close on 11 December 2007. A Sundaram BNP Paribas Select Thematic Energy Opportunities fund is a thematic close-end equity scheme with automatic conversion into an open-end scheme after maturity at the end of 3 years. The objective of the scheme would be to seek long term capital appreciation by investing primarily in the equity and equity related instruments of companies in the domestic market that predominantly focus on or benefit from, directly or indirectly, the opportunities and developments in the energy sector.
The scheme will invest 65%-100% in equity and equity related instruments in the targeted sector. The investment in equity and equity related instruments other than the targeted sector would be 0%-35%. The scheme will invest 0%-15% in Treasury bills, CBLO, Reverse repo.
