Nagpur, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Selected edible oil skyrocketed in Vidarbha 
region of Western Maharashtra on renewed demand from local traders amid short 
supply from local crushing plants. Notable rise in American soya digam prices, 
upward trend on NCDEX, further hike in Madhya Pradesh oil and reported demand 
from North-based traders also helped to push up prices. Weak arrival from 
producing region also boosted prices, sources said Saturday.

    VIDARBHA MARKETS 
    OILS 
    * Cottonseed, Groundnut loose, Groundnut refined, Sunflower refined, 
      Linseed, Rapeseed, Castor and Coconut KP oil prices reported 
      steady in thin trading activity. 
    * Traders further rise in soya oil in Vidarbha. 
    SOYMEAL 
    * Prices skyrocketed in Vidarbha on good demand from South-based traders. 
      About three dollar per tonne hike in international soymeal prices and 
      restricted supply from local crushing plants also pushed up prices. 
    SOYABEAN 
    * Soybean prices in the Nagpur Agriculture Produce and Marketing Committee 
      (APMC) zoomed up on good demand from local crushing plants. Sharp rise in 
      soymeal, upward trend in soya oil and weak arrival from producing region 
      also helped to push up prices. Fresh rise in Madhya Pradesh soya prices 
      and reported demand from Suth-based crushing plants also boosted prices. 
      High moisture content soya was available at Rs 16,000 per tonne. 
    * About 20,000 bags reported for auction in major soya mandi 
      in Vidarbha, sources said Saturday.
