A 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which struck China's Sichuan
province on Monday, has killed up to 5,000 people and left as
many as 10,000 injured, state media said.
The earthquake, the most devastating one to hit China in
three decades, toppled eight schools and at least one hospital,
leaving hundreds trapped.
The quake was felt as far southwest as Bangkok, about 3,200
km ( 2050 miles) away, where office buildings swayed for several
minutes.
