Gur slips further at Muzaffarnagar
Muzaffarnagar, Feb 24 - Gur khurpa quoted lower by Rs. 4.00 per maund, while gur chaku and raskat registered a loss of Rs. 10.00 per maund in first-half of trade at Muzaffarnagar Saturday. Gur laddu and dhaiyya also drifted lower by Rs. 5.00 per maund. Shakkar exhibited similar sentiments and trailed further. As per traders, gur production in rural areas of the district has gone up as farmers have re-started selling sugarcane at kolhus on huge output concerns. Local traders say, backedby likelihoodof emergence of fresh demand ahead of Holi, gur production is seen lifted at remote stations and addit has also helpedarrival to escalate further.Though gur chaku and raskat were marginally traded,higher arrival coupled with average demand evened out prospects ofan upsurge. Cold-storage gur quoted as follows [in Rs/maund]: Gur khurpa [new]: Rs. 440-443; gur laddu [new]: Rs. 478-482; gur chaku [new]: Rs. 440-476; gur dhaiyya: Rs. 460-465; shakkar [sunhari]: Rs. 510-518; shakkar [masala]: 520-550; gur raskat [open-market]: Rs. 360-365 per maund; gur raskat [crusher]: Rs. 370-375 per maund.Meanwhile, gur khurpa March delivery at regional exchange Vijay Vyopar Chambers opened at Rs. 453.00 per maund, same to its previous close, while May delivery resumed business atRs. 467.25 also almost flat at the previous close.
