Mumbai - Sugar futures reversed the previous session's gains amid profit-booking and heavy selling by traders and speculators on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange [NCDEX] Tuesday. The sugar futures were trading lower during the initial trade with movement in a narrow range.
NCDEX December-07 sugar opened down Rs 17 at Rs 1318/quintal, and saw movement in the range of Rs 1310 and Rs 1322/quintal. At 10.13 am IST, the contract was trading down Rs 13 at Rs 1322/quintal with a volume of 2980 tonnes.
January-08 sugar opened down Rs 20 at Rs 1332/quintal, and fluctuated between Rs 1322 and Rs 1339/quintal. At 10.14 am IST, the sugar contract was trading down Rs 18 at Rs 1334/quintal with a volume of 3790 tonnes.
February-08 sugar opened down Rs nine at Rs 1290/quintal, and fluctuated between Rs 1287 and Rs 1294/quintal. At 10.14 am IST, the sugar contract was trading down Rs seven at Rs 1292/quintal with a volume of 690 tonnes.
