GREEK NBG SEEKS STRATEGIC PARTNER FOR INSURANCE ARM
Greece's largest lender, National Bank <NBGr.AT>, is looking
for a foreign strategic partner for its insurance arm Ethniki
<ETHr.AT> to expand bancassurance services further in the

STATISTICS SERVICE TO RELEASE JUNE UNEMPLOYMENT DATA
National Statistics Service releases June unemployment data,
later in the day. Greece's unemployment rate came in at 6.6
percent in May.
CENTRAL BANKER TO MEET BANKERS ON BUSINESS PLANS
Greek central bank head George Provopoulos will meet top
officials from Greece's largest banks over the next six weeks,
to ask for details on how the Greek lenders will finance their
business plans by the end of 2009, financial daily Naftemporiki
reported citing unnamed sources.

NATURAL GAS CO. DEPA EXPECTS 170 MLN EURO PRETAX PROFIT
Natural gas operator DEPA expects pretax profit to reach 170
million euros this year from 103 million a year earlier, the
company's CEO was quoted as saying at the Thessaloniki Trade
Fair, according to financial daily Imerisia. The Greek state
holds 65 percent and Hellenic Petroleum <HEPr.AT> owns the rest.
