Bhel may see action on attractive Q2 numbers
Following stocks may see action in today's trade.

Net profit of Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) rose 91.01% to Rs 687.66 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 360.01 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales rose 18.68% to Rs 3965.36 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 3341.15 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Net profit of Housing Development Finance Corporation rose 75.64% to Rs 646.39 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 368.02 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales rose 30.54% to Rs 1888.60 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 1446.79 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Hinduja Group is reportedly interested in holding a majority stake in state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's petroleum refining project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

A couple of private equity (PE) firms have evinced interest in picking up around 40 % stake in Valecha Infrastructure, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Valecha Engineering.

Net profit of Tata Tea declined 60.46% to Rs 64.81 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 163.92 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales rose 16.44% to Rs 319.05 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 274.00 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Net profit of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation rose 170.12% to Rs 41.76 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 15.46 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales rose 57.80% to Rs 181.09 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 114.76 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Net profit of Sobha Developers rose 51.84% to Rs 56.18 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 37.00 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales declined 0.24% to Rs 325.42 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 326.20 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Net profit of Titan Industries rose 43.88% to Rs 46.30 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 32.18 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006. Sales rose 35.89% to Rs 711.40 crore in the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 523.53 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2006.

Akruti Nirman reported net profit of Rs 60.87 crore in the quarter ended September 2007. Sales reported at Rs 100.64 crore in the quarter ended September 2007.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers of equity worth Rs 688.93 crore on Monday, 29 October 2007, while domestic institutional investors bought Rs 634.44 crore of equity on that day, according to provisional data released by NSE.
