Mumbai- Guar seed and guar gum futures on National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) slipped in early trade Thursday as speculative selling increased in the market ahead of the three day weekend, say traders.
Trading will be closed Friday and Saturday for Good Friday and Holi respectively.
Stocks
Demat stock of guar seed at NCDEX monitored warehouses, as of March 15 was 63,837 tonnes, while 1,087 tonnes were in process. For guar gum, demat stocks were at 7,025 tonnes while 379 tonnes were in process. The MCX warehouses were stacked up with 60 tonnes of guar seed as on March 15.
Prices
On NCDEX, Guar seed March contract fell Rs 15 to trade at Rs 1,861 per quintal. Volume traded for March contract is noted at 150 tonnes.
April contract traded weaker by Rs 11 at Rs 1,923 per quintal. Total volume traded for April contract is noted at 10,110 tonnes.
On NCDEX, Guar gum March contract traded at Rs 4,520 per quintal after a slide of Rs 48. Volume traded for March contract noted is noted at 10 tonnes.
April contract plunged Rs 24 to trade at Rs 4,640 per quintal. Volume traded for April contract is noted at 60 tonnes.
