INDIA GROUNDNUTS (PEANUTS) - Gujarat, south-central and southeast India are the
major growing areas.
Two crops...June to September and November to March. This crop needs adequate
but not excessive rains during the growing season.
CROP IMPACT: Key groundnut areas of Gujarat India have been drier during the
past week, after earlier rains. The southern India groundnut region has seen
and increase in shower activity recently, after earlier hotter and drier
weather. However, there are still parts of India's south belt that are still
too dry and hot.
