NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq rose more than 2 percent on Tuesday, led by a jump of more than 10 percent in Apple Inc. <AAPL.O> shares.

Apple's gains followed news that the company was talking to China Mobile Ltd <0941.HK>, the world's top wireless carrier, about offering its iPhones in China.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 178.67 points, or 1.38 percent, at 13,166.22. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 21.64 points, or 1.50 percent, at 1,460.82. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 54.41 points, or 2.11 percent, at 2,638.54.
