    TAIPEI, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Here are news stories and press 
reports that may affect the Taiwan stock market on Wednesday. 
    Shares could open higher after Wall Street rallied more than 
2 percent on the Fed's signal that it is in no rush to raise 
interest rates, with Hon Hai getting an extra potential boost 
from reports it plans to invest T$100 billion in Taiwan.

    LOCAL PRESS REPORTS 
    -- Hon Hai <2317.TW> Group will announce a plan to invest 
T$100 billion ($3.26 billion) in three major projects in Taiwan, 
the Commercial Times reported. 
    -- Fubon Financial <2881.TW> has found a mainland Chinese 
securities firm to invest in and signed an MOU, and will apply 
for the financial regulator's permission to go ahead with the 
deal, the Commercial Times reported, citing Fubon's chairman. 
    -- Vice President Vincent Siew said Blackstone Group <BX.N> 
chief executive Stephen Schwarzman told him the U.S. private 
equity firm has high hopes for investment in Taiwan, the Economic 
Daily reported. 
    -- The TechCrunch industry Website said that Hon Hai's 
Foxconn <2038.HK> unit would raise its annual 3G iPhone 
production capacity to 40 million units, well above industry 
expectations for 25 million, the Economic Daily reported.
