MEXICO CITY, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks traded down
on Tuesday, weighed by a dip in cell phone heavyweight America
Movil and a drop in copper miner Grupo Mexico.
The IPC stock index <.MXX> was 0.59 percent lower at midday
at 32,152 points. The peso <MXN=> was stable at 10.8320 per
dollar.
Shares of America Movil <AMXL.MX> <AMX.N>, the most heavily
weighted company in the IPC index, were down 0.34 percent at
35.68 pesos. Its New York-stock was down 0.83 percent at
$65.75.
Grupo Mexico <GMEXICOB.MX> fell 1.27 percent to 88.33 pesos
as the price of copper eased.
Shares of Aeromexico <AMEXICOA.MX> surged 12.17 percent to
2.12 pesos as Citigroup and Mexico's wealthy Saba family made
last-minute bids to buy the government's majority-stake in the
airline.
