Mutual funds in buying mode in equities

Mutual funds (MFs) bought shares worth a net Rs 111.40 crore on Monday, 15 October 2007, compared to their selling of Rs 723.80 crore on Friday, 12 October 2007.

MFs net purchases of Rs 111.40 crore on 15 October 2007 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1,265.50 crore and gross sales Rs 1,154.10 crore The 30-shares BSE Sensex ended up 639.63 points, or 3.47%, to 19,058.67, a record closing high on that day. It hit an all time high of 19,095.75 in late trade on that day.

MFs were net sellers of shares worth Rs 2,674.90 crore in this month, till 15 October 2007.
