Shares of a new exchange-traded fund that tracks the performance of China's
biggest 25 companies climbed as much as 16.4 percent before closing up 5.65
percent on Thursday, their first day of trading. Volume on the ProShares
UltraShort FTSE/Xinhua China 25 <FXP.A> ETF was about 528,400 shares, according
to Reuters data. The FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index <.FTXIN25>, whose daily return
the fund aims to inversely double, fell 4.4 percent on Thursday.
