Nifty February 2007 futures settled at 4129.30, a discount of 18.40 points over the spot closing of 4,147.70.
Turnover in NSEs F&O; segment surged to Rs 53,806.48 crore as compared to Rs 40,123.12 crore on Wednesday, on account of expiry of January 2007 futures contracts today.
Tata Steel February 2007 futures settled at a premium, at 511.35, compared to the spot closing of Rs 506.75. It was the most active contract with a turnover of Rs 853.06 crore.
Reliance Industries (RIL) February 2007 futures settled at a premium, at 1,381.90, compared to the spot closing of Rs 1,370.
Bharti Airtel February 2007 futures settled at a discount, at 704.70, compared to the spot closing of Rs 709.90.
In the cash market, Nifty advanced 57.80 points (1.41%) to 4,147.70, an all time closing high.
The percentage of cumulative FII-positions measured with respect to gross market positions in the derivative segment (till 24 January 2007), was 31.50%.
