MUMBAI, Dec 1 (Reuters) - India's second-biggest motorcycle
maker Bajaj Auto Ltd <BJAT.BO> reported on Saturday vehicles
sales in November fell 3 percent from a year earlier, but it said
motorcycle sales should start growing from December.
Vehicle sales eased to 235,797 in November from 243,713 a
year earlier with motorcycle sales slipping 2 percent to 209,876
units.
Sales of all two-wheelers fell to 211,600 units from 214,329
units and three-wheeler sales also slid 18 percent to 24,197
units but exports rose 28 percent to 46,295 units, it said.
"Billings has been constrained by lower production arising
out of plant closures," the company said.
"The capacity expansion will be completed in December. It is
expected that from this month onwards motorcycle sales will once
again show positive growth."
Bajaj is raising production capacity of its new bike XCD 125
to 75,000 units a month to meet strong demand. It had sold 63,000
units of the bike between its launch in early September and
October.
