New Delhi, June 29. State-run MMTC Ltd. has decided to defer a wheat import tender for 50,000 tonnes because of high prices quoted by the bidders, a company spokesman said on Thursday."The response was not right. Prices were too high that is why we decided to postpone the tender," he said."In future we may try again depending on the market," he said.The company had floated the wheat tender on June 7.Last month, State Trading Corp. had cancelled a one million tonne wheat import tender citing high prices, but this month it has floated a fresh tender for the same quantity.
