SOUTH INDIA

SUMMARY- A few widely scattered light showers in far southern and northern portions of South India over the weekend. Mostly dry elsewhere through the region. Temperatures 83-89F (28-32C).

FORECAST-

TODAY...Perhaps a brief passing light showers in the north, otherwise mostly dry. Temperatures 82-89F (28-32C).

TONIGHT...Mostly dry overnight, areas of haze and smoke.

TOMORROW...Continuing mostly dry. Temperatures 81-88F (27-31C).

OUTLOOK...No significant rainfall expected this period. Temperatures a bit cooler.

INDIA SUNFLOWER

CROP IMPACT: Major sunflower areas of Maharashtra have adequate to surplus soil moisture and irrigation after above normal Monsoon rainfall in the area. However, the region has been mostly dry and hotter during recent weeks.

The Andhra Pradesh sunflower areas have had above average Monsoon rains, favoring this crop.
