Reliance rolls out pilot Vimal stores
Charting an ambitious roadmap for the relaunch of its Vimal brand, RelianceIndustries announced the launch of 20 pilot Vimal stores.The stores are expected to provide services ranging from textiles,ready-to-wear garments and customised tailoring facilities. The textilemajor has tied up with Maurizio Bonas, an Italian tailoring consultant andfashion co-ordinator, to guide tailors from select showrooms withcontemporary designs in clothing, accessory design and suit cuts. ChetanDesai, vice-president, marketing, textiles division, said, The company isre-launching Vimal as a ready-to-wear and fabric brand. The company intendsto tap the younger set by offering fashion in the tailoring segment.Reliance has handpicked around 40 tailors from upmarket boutiques such asGabbana and Kachin's in Mumbai to train them in creating Italian jacketsusing required fabrics, accessories and cuts. The idea is to create aknowledge bank of tailors to enable them in managing the company'scustomised offerings in the future, company executives said.|
